Jonathan Szeto

Jonathan Szeto is a fourth-year medical student at the Perelman School of Medicine originally from Cherry Hill New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania in Political Science. Prior to medical school, he worked in the U.S. House of Representatives on environmental health policy.

Jonathan’s current research interests include conduit selection for coronary artery bypass grafting and the health impacts of extreme temperature and the lived environment. He is interested in pursuing a career as a cardiothoracic surgeon, with a particular interest in advanced coronary revascularization and surgical treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

Outside of medicine, Jonathan is an avid runner and tennis player who enjoys spending time outdoors. He previously worked at the Philadelphia Zoo and enjoys camping, hiking, and exploring new regions of the United States.

Eitan Goodman

Eitan was born and raised in New Jersey and is currently a second-year medical student at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Neuroscience and later completed research in neurogenetics at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

He is pursuing a career in cardiothoracic surgery and currently conducts cardiac surgery and heart transplantation outcomes research with interests in concomitant cardiac procedures, donor heart allocation, and mechanical circulatory support in high-risk patients.

Outside of medicine, you can find Eitan in the gym, trying out new recipes, playing chess with friends, or exploring new restaurants. As a member of TSMA leadership, he looks forward to helping create opportunities for students to explore cardiothoracic surgery and to supporting the next generation of surgeons.
