Reannon Suzuki
Reannon Suzuki is a native of Hawaii and a third-year medical student at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. She earned her degree in Biomedical Sciences from The College of Idaho, where she also completed minors in Criminal Justice, Psychology, and Medicine. During her undergraduate years, she researched chemotherapy treatments for glioblastoma multiforme. After graduating, she spent a gap year working as a medical assistant and scribe.
Her current research spans new diagnostic tests for lung cancer, surgical outcomes, and medical innovation. As part of the University of Hawaii’s Medical Innovation and Design group, she has contributed to the development of novel devices, including an exoskeleton walker for rehabilitation and a wound vacuum system designed to accelerate healing. Reannon is committed to expanding her exposure to cardiac surgery and pursuing a career as an academic cardiothoracic surgeon.
Outside of school, she enjoys hiking Hawaii’s scenic trails, fishing, and swimming in the ocean. She looks forward to working with TSMA to strengthen its community of aspiring cardiothoracic surgeons and expand its reach, impact, and opportunities for professional growth.
